Fishing Accident

I’m really pleased with this Dwarf Fortress image. This was an event that happened in the same fortress as the ‘Attacked by the Dead’ image. I was suddenly alerted that one of my fisher dwarves had been struck down. ‘Oh no!’ I thought, and went to look. What I found was a horribly mutilated corpse next to the pond he had been fishing from - and two other fisherman who were completely non-plused by the situation. There was no sign whatsoever of who the attacker was and the fishermen hadn’t been frightened or anything. It was only a little pond, so carp couldn’t have been to blame, and there was no ambush announcement, so it couldn’t have been goblins. It was quite bizarre. And hilarious.
